GAME 1 — WORLD & BOOK ALIGNMENT (Vols 1–4)
One engine, three games across the 12 volumes: G1 = Vols 1–4 · G2 = Vols 5–8 · G3 = Vols 9–12.
Game 1 has 12 dungeons (3 per volume), each with a book-aligned boss. Like the novel, the game is
multi-POV: you pick Lyra, Balkan, or Gael, each spawning in their own biome with their own
story-aligned arc; the other two (and Gideon) appear as allied NPCs in their home regions. Canon:
MACRO-PLAN.md · VOLUME-ARCS.md · BOOK-CANON.md. New characters/enemies here feed NPCS.md & ENEMIES.md;
the dungeon map updates DUNGEONS.md.
A. PLAYABLE HEROES (pick at start — story-aligned spawn)
| Hero | Spawn biome / point | Arc in G1 | Plays toward |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lyra Starborne | Hearthvale farm & road (green/meadow) | the hunted Starborn; the spiritual spine | her V3 death → V4 angelic rebirth |
| Balkan | Eisengrave (ice north) | warlord's son holding the north vs the takings | the North's stand; converges on the Veil-tear |
| Gael (Shadowfern) | the Whispering Forest (deep wood) | metamorph infiltrator; the Order & the dragon secret | witnessing Nymiria; defection; Harmony |
Cross-character NPC matrix (each campaign reuses the same world; the others become allies/quest-givers):
| You play → | Lyra & Gideon | Balkan | Gael |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lyra | playable (Gideon = ally at the farm) | allied NPC at Eisengrave (his arc) | allied NPC in the Forest (his arc) |
| Balkan | NPCs at the Hearthvale farm (Gideon smith, Lyra child) | playable | allied NPC in the Forest |
| Gael | NPCs at the farm | allied NPC at Eisengrave | playable |
- Gideon is no longer a separate playable in G1's trio — he anchors Lyra's farm as smith/ally (forges
your gear, gives the farming/forging tutorial) and appears as a farm NPC in the other campaigns.
- Each campaign sees the same events from a different seat (GoT-style): e.g. the Nymiria drain is Gael's
chapter to play, but Lyra/Balkan only hear of it as rumor + consequence.

§C2 restored 2026-06-24 (data-loss recovery): the D5–D12 rosters were truncated off at D4 ("upgr…") by the same
incident that cut ENEMIES.md/NPCS.md/BUILDINGS.md/QUESTS.md/BALANCE.md. Rebuilt to mirror the now-recovered game
data (ENEMIES bosses #44–#117, NPCS §C2 + recovered cast). Recommend git/backup for design/.
